Polyurethane introduction
Polyurethane (PUR and PU) is a polymer composed of a chain of organic units joined by carbamate (urethane) links. While most polyurethanes are thermosetting polymers that do not melt when heated, thermoplastic polyurethanes are also available. Polyurethane polymers are formed by reacting an isocyanate with a polyol. Both the isocyanates and polyols used to make polyurethanes contain on average two or more functional groups per molecule. Polyurethanes are a diverse and versatile group of materials that are known for abrasion resistance, chemical resistivity, stability in water, ease of processing and relative low cost. Its hardness range is 10 shore A to 85 shore D.
1. The properties of polyurethane liner board
It is with excellent anti-abrasion performance, good flame retardant and antistatic performance. It meets the standard of GB3684-83, GB3685-83.

2.1 The liner includes two layers. The bottom layer is yellow color while the upper layer is red. Their ratio is 2:1. The red layer is the working side which could maximum increase the using time. The yellow layer is warning color which means when the liner wears to yellow layer, the liner should be exchanged.
2.2 In the yellow layer, there is steel net reinforced to assure its strength and elasticity.
3. The design of liner
Anti-abrasion liner is designed according to various working condition and requirement. The earliest grain silo pipe inner liner is made by PE material which is not so anti-abrasion. It is worn out in a very short time which needs to be exchanged frequently. Further more, PE liner is so hard that the grain is broken while hit on them. In thus way, polyurethane liner comes out to replace the PE type. Polyurethane liner is with excellent anti-abrasion performance and high elasticity to avoid the problem generated while using PE liner.
4. Advantage
4.1,Extend the using life: Due to its excellent anti-abrasion performance, polyurethane liner could instead of PE liner and be bulk used in port. For example, the working life of 10mm PU liner is 3-5 times of 12mm PE liner.
4.2, Inflame retardant PU liner could not self-ignite. Once it is departed from flame, it will be extinct.
4.3, Antistatic The biggest security risk in silo is dust explosion. Polyurethane liner is antistatic which could remove the static generated during operation. Antistatic performance is one of the import standard for liners.
4.4, PU liner is with good elasticity and flexibility. When the grain drops down from high altitude, PU liner plays a buffer role to reduce the broken grains.
4.5, Good lower temperature performance polyurethane is with good lower temperature performance .It could be maintain good elasticity and flexibility under lower temperature.
4.6, The working condition of port is moisture and the sea water is corrosive, while polyurethane could keep good performance under such condition.
5. Application
Polyurethane liner board is with excellent anti-abrasion performance, flame retardant and anti-static performance. It is widely used in grain transportation and storage industries as well as machinery industry. It is easy to installation with long working life. The polyurethane material could long time used under moisture condition.
